NEW BRUNSWICK AVIATION MUSEUM

The New Brunswick Aviation Museum, a provincially incorporated, not-for-profit, charitable organization, is being established at the old RCAF Station/CFB Chatham air base to capture and preserve the military and civilian aviation stories of New Brunswick. We require both cash and in-kind donations to support the creation of the New Brunswick Aviation Museum and to assist with upcoming major events.

Location

We do not have a physical location to house our growing Museum collection at this time but we are pursuing several options. These options include purchasing one of the original Second World War hangars at the old air base, finding a suitable existing building in the vicinity or building a new facility.

The main option we are currently investigating is the acquisition and refurbishment of #1 Hangar in Chatham as it is an original WWII hangar and was the maintenance hangar for many years after the Station re-opened in 1949. As it is the closest hangar to the highway, it would be ideal for our Museum.

Feasibility Study

As the creation of a Museum is a very large undertaking, we are currently working to secure funding for a feasibility study. The study will cost $32,300 + HST but it will provide the background information we need to move forward with all future funding requests from the various levels of government and from donors and investors.

Donation Levels for the New Brunswick Aviation Museum:

Golden Hawk (Founder): $500,000.00 and above

Sabre (Benefactor): $125,000.00 - $499,999.00

Voodoo (Builder): $50,000.00 - $124,999.00

Twin Huey (Partner): $25,000.00 - $49,999.00

Anson (Patron): $10,000.00 - $24,999.00

Freedom Fighter (Friend): $1,000.00 - $9,999.00

Avenger (Supporter): $20.00 - $999.00

The Museum will have a special recognition wall established to thank everyone who has contributed to the establishment of the Museum.

For those unable to contribute at this time, planned giving options may be something for you to consider. "Planned giving" refers to any major gift that involves financial or estate planning. Such gifts can provide important benefits both to you and to the Museum. The different types of planned gifts can include bequests, charitable trusts, gifts of life insurance policies, gifts of retirement plan assets, and gifts of tangible personal property. As we are not experts in financial planning, any gift of this nature should be discussed with a lawyer or financial planner.

You may also consider making a donation “In Memory of….”. We will gladly recognize individuals on a Memorial Wall at the Museum. Show your support to family and friends of a deceased former Air Force member in a permanent way.
